Stephon Marbury Autographs
Stephon Marbury was born on February 20, 1977, in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School where he honed his basketball skills and became one of the top high school players in the country. In 1995, he was named New York State Mr. Basketball and went on to play college ball at Georgia Tech.
In 1996, Marbury was drafted fourth overall by the Milwaukee Bucks but was quickly traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He made an immediate impact in his rookie season, averaging 15.8 points and 7.8 assists per game. He continued to excel over the next several seasons, becoming a two-time NBA All-Star in 2001 and 2003. After stints with the New Jersey Nets and the Phoenix Suns, Marbury landed with the New York Knicks in 2004. However, his time in New York was marked by controversy and decline in performance, and he was eventually bought out of his contract in 2009.
After his NBA career ended, Marbury found success playing in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He joined the Beijing Ducks in 2011 and led them to three CBA championships in four years. He also became a fan favorite and was nicknamed "Ma Bu Li" (馬布里) by Chinese fans. Marbury retired from basketball in 2018 and has since become a successful businessman, developing his own basketball sneakers and opening a basketball academy in China. He remains a beloved figure in Chinese basketball and a trailblazer for NBA players seeking success overseas.
