Taurean Prince was born on March 22, 1994, in San Marcos, Texas, USA. He attended Earl Warren High School where he played high school basketball. Prince played his college basketball for Baylor from 2013 to 2016, where he was able to lead his team to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2014 and to the Elite Eight in 2015. During his time at Baylor, Prince was known for his amazing three-point shooting and his dynamic scoring ability. In the 2016 NBA draft, he was selected 12th overall by the Utah Jazz but was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks.
After being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks, Taurean Prince quickly established himself as an integral part of the team. He played both forward positions for the Hawks during his rookie season, averaging 5.7 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, and shooting 32.4% from three-point range. In his second season, Prince improved his shooting percentage from beyond the arc and went on to average 14.1 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game. The forward became increasingly known for his scoring ability and fantastic perimeter defense, which saw him ranked second in the league in deflections.
During his third season in Atlanta, Taurean Prince had several impressive games, including a 38-point game in a win against the Brooklyn Nets. However, he was later traded to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant in 2019. Since joining Brooklyn, Prince has continued to improve his game, making him a reliable and essential part of the team. The 6’7” versatile player’s ability to attack the rim, hit three-point shots, and play tough defense has positioned him as an essential player for the Brooklyn Nets as they continue their playoff push.
