Gola was a four-time All-America selection and led La Salle to win the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) championship in 1952, and the NCAA championship in 1954. During this time, he was known for his exceptional skills, particularly for his rebounding and passing skills. His talents did not go unnoticed by professional teams, and he was picked fifth overall in the 1955 NBA draft by the Philadelphia Warriors.

Gola had a successful professional career as well, during his ten seasons in the NBA. He spent his first six seasons with the Warriors and was selected to the All-Star team every year. In 1956, he helped the Warriors win the NBA championship. In 1963, he was traded to the New York Knicks and later to the Detroit Pistons, where he retired in 1966. Gola's basketball legacy was honored in 1969 when he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Read even more about Tom Gola at Wikipedia
