Tracy Lamont Murray was born on July 25th, 1971 in Washington, D.C. He is former professional basketball player who played in National Basketball Association (NBA) for 12 seasons. Murray attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he played for the UCLA Bruins basketball team. Murray had an impressive college career, averaging 24.3 points per game in his final season with the team. In 1992, he was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, but was later traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.
During his NBA career, Tracy Murray played for several teams including Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers. He was known for his sharpshooting ability and was one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA during his playing days. In the 1999-2000 season, he had one of the best seasons of his career, averaging 16.2 points per game playing for the Toronto Raptors. He also set a then-record for most three-pointers made in a single season by a Canadian NBA player.
After retiring from basketball, Tracy Murray has been working as a basketball analyst for various networks including ESPN, Fox Sports and Spectrum SportsNet. He also works as an assistant coach at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he once played. Murray was inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015 in recognition of his achievements for the Bruins basketball program. He continues to be active in the basketball community and is considered as one of the best shooters in the history of NBA.
