Ty Jerome is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on July 8, 1997, in New Rochelle, New York. Jerome began playing basketball at an early age, and his talent was quickly recognized when he led Iona Prep to the New York State Federation Class A championship in 2015.
After high school, Ty Jerome attended the University of Virginia, where he had a successful basketball career. In his junior year, he played a major role in leading the Virginia Cavaliers to win the 2019 NCAA Championship title. Jerome was a key player on the team, averaging 13.6 points, 4.2 assists, and 4 rebounds per game. He was known for his excellent court vision and ability to make clutch shots in high-pressure situations. After the championship, Jerome decided to forgo his senior year and enter the NBA draft.
In the 2019 NBA draft, Ty Jerome was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the first round with the 24th overall pick. He struggled to establish himself in his rookie season, playing limited minutes due to injuries and the team's deep rotation. However, Jerome showed flashes of his talent, displaying good playmaking ability and scoring skills. He also played for the Northern Arizona Suns of the NBA G League. Jerome is expected to have a bigger role on the team in the upcoming seasons, and his basketball career is full of potential.
