Tyler Cook is an American professional basketball player who was born on September 23, 1997, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Cook is a power forward with a towering height of 6’8, and he weighs 255 pounds. Tyler Cook's basketball career started in high school, where he played for Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis, and he led his team to multiple state championships. He was regarded as one of the best players in his class and earned numerous awards and recognitions, which earned him a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Iowa.
At Iowa, Tyler Cook began as an undeclared freshman player but quickly established himself as a vital player on the team. His size, athleticism, and scoring ability made him a force to reckon with on the court. During his sophomore year, Cook led the team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots, which earned him a second-team All-Big Ten honors. Tyler Cook declared for the 2019 NBA draft after his junior year, where he went undrafted. Nonetheless, he earned himself an opportunity to play in the NBA by signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers and later the Denver Nuggets.
Cook's professional basketball career has been one of resilience and patience. After going undrafted in 2019, he joined the Denver Nuggets G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls. His impressive performances with the Bulls caught the attention of the Denver Nuggets, who signed him to a two-way contract in January 2020. Since then, Cook's career has been on an upward trajectory. While his minutes on the court have been limited, he has made the best of the opportunities he has had. In February 2021, he signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets and appeared in his first NBA game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
