Tyler Lydon is an American professional basketball player who was born on April 9, 1996, in Elizaville, New York. He started his basketball career in high school where he played for New Hampton School in New Hampshire. During his junior year, he led his team to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class A Championship, and during his senior year, he averaged 16.8 points per game, 11.3 rebounds per game, and 4.2 blocks per game.
After graduating high school, Lydon attended Syracuse University where he played college basketball for the Syracuse Orange. During his two seasons with the Orange, he averaged 10.3 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 1.5 blocks per game. In his sophomore season, he helped lead Syracuse to the NCAA Final Four with his outstanding performances, including a 20-point, 10-rebound effort in the Midwest regional final against Virginia.
In the 2017 NBA Draft, Lydon was selected with the 24th overall pick by the Utah Jazz, but his draft rights were later traded to the Denver Nuggets. During his three seasons with the Nuggets, he played in 25 regular season games and averaged 2.3 points per game and 1.7 rebounds per game. He also played in the NBA G League where he showcased his skills and potential. In 2021, Lydon signed with Spanish club Monbus Obradoiro, where he continues to work on his game and improve as a player.
