Daniel Zaragoza Autographs
Daniel Zaragoza is a retired Mexican professional boxer, born on December 1, 1957, in Mexico City. Zaragoza began boxing as a teenager, turning professional at the age of 18. He later became one of Mexico's most celebrated boxers in the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, holding various world bantamweight and super bantamweight championship titles. Zaragoza was known for his impressive speed, agility, and counter-punching style.
In his boxing career, Zaragoza won a total of 55 fights, which included 28 knockouts, 11 losses, and three draws. One of his most significant victories came in 1989 when he beat the legendary Puerto Rican boxer Wilfredo Gomez to win the WBC junior featherweight championship, which he defended ten times before moving up to the featherweight division. Nevertheless, in 1992, the International Boxing Federation stripped him of his featherweight title, but he won it back after defeating Manuel Medina in a rematch in 1995. Zaragoza officially retired from boxing in 1997 after he was defeated by Erik Morales for the WBC super bantamweight title in what would be his last career fight.
Zaragoza's talent as a boxer led him to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2004. He is regarded as one of the greatest Mexican boxers of all time, and his career paved the way for other top boxing stars like Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Oscar De La Hoya. Zaragoza is now retired and focuses on his personal life and helps promote boxing in Mexico.
