Joe Calzaghe Autographs
Joe Calzaghe, known as the "Pride of Wales," was one of the most dominant super middleweight boxers in history. Born in London in 1972 but raised in Wales, Calzaghe turned professional in 1993 after a successful amateur career. He quickly rose through the ranks, capturing the WBO super middleweight title in 1997 by defeating Chris Eubank.
Calzaghe's career was defined by his exceptional hand speed, elusive footwork, and undefeated record. He successfully defended his super middleweight title a record 21 times over a decade, defeating notable opponents like Jeff Lacy, Mikkel Kessler, and Robin Reid. In 2006, Calzaghe unified the super middleweight division by defeating IBF champion Jeff Lacy in a dominant performance that solidified his status as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
Towards the end of his career, Calzaghe moved up to light heavyweight and secured two high-profile victories on American soil. In 2008, he defeated Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas and followed it up with a win over Roy Jones Jr. at Madison Square Garden. Calzaghe retired in 2009 with a perfect professional record of 46-0 (32 KOs), having never tasted defeat in his 15-year career. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2014, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest British boxers of all time.
