Max Baer Autographs

Max Baer was an American boxer who was born on February 11, 1909, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of a former heavyweight boxer and grew up with an interest in boxing. He became a professional boxer in 1929 and soon established himself as one of the best heavyweights of his time.
Baer's boxing career spanned from 1929 to 1941, during which he fought in 83 bouts, winning 68 of them, with 51 of those wins coming by knockout. He was known for his aggressive and powerful fighting style, which made him a crowd favorite. He won the world heavyweight championship on June 14, 1934, when he knocked out Primo Carnera in the 11th round of their fight. That victory made him an instant celebrity, and he quickly became one of the most popular sports figures of his time.
Baer's boxing career was not without controversy. He was criticized for not taking his training seriously and for being too cocky. Some of his opponents accused him of being unsportsmanlike, including former champion Jack Dempsey. Despite the controversy, Baer's boxing career was impressive, and he left a lasting impact on the sport. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1995, which recognized his contributions to the sport and his enduring legacy as one of the greatest boxers of his time.
