Max Baer was an American boxer who was born on February 11, 1909, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of a former heavyweight boxer and grew up with an interest in boxing. Baer's boxing career spanned from 1929 to 1941, during which he fought in 83 bouts, winning 68 of them, with 51 of those wins coming by knockout. He was known for his aggressive and powerful fighting style, which made him a crowd favorite. He won the world heavyweight championship on June 14, 1934, when he knocked out Primo Carnera in the 11th round of their fight.
