Michael Carbajal Autographs

Michael Carbajal is a retired American boxer who rose to prominence during the 1990s. Born on September 17, 1967, in Phoenix, Arizona, he started boxing at a young age and won the National Golden Gloves Championship in 1989. He won a silver medal at the 1988 Olympics, representing the United States in the light flyweight category. Carbajal turned pro in 1990 and won his first 19 fights, including the World Boxing Council (WBC) light flyweight title in 1992, which he successfully defended six times.
Carbajal's notable fights include his win over Humberto Gonzalez in 1993 to unify the WBC and International Boxing Federation (IBF) light flyweight titles, which was dubbed the "Fight of the Year" by The Ring magazine. In 1994, he moved up to the flyweight division and won the International Boxing Organization (IBO) title. In 1995, he defeated Jorge Arce to win the WBO flyweight title. Carbajal retired in 1999 with a professional record of 49 wins (33 by knockout), four losses, and one draw.
Carbajal's legacy in boxing is significant, as he was one of the best light flyweight and flyweight fighters of his time. He was known for his speed, power, and tenacity in the ring, earning him the nickname "Little Hands of Stone" for his resemblance to fellow Mexican-American boxer Roberto Duran. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2006 and is considered a trailblazer for future Mexican-American boxers. Outside of boxing, Carbajal runs a successful gym in Phoenix and works as a boxing commentator.
