Adam Green is a multi-talented American filmmaker and musician. He was born on March 31, 1981, in Holliston, Massachusetts. Green started playing music when he was a teenager, and eventually formed the indie rock band The Moldy Peaches with his friend Kimya Dawson. The duo released several albums and gained a cult following in the early 2000s. Green’s interest in filmmaking led him to direct, write and star in the independent horror comedy film "Hatchet" in 2006, which became a cult classic.
Green continued his career in the film industry, directing several horror movies such as "Frozen" and "Hatchet II." He also created and starred in a television series called "Holliston" which aired between 2012 and 2013. Green's unique style of horror comedy, coupled with his music background, brought a fresh perspective to the horror genre, making him a darling of the genre. His visionary film-making abilities have earned him recognition and accolades from various film organizations including Fantastic Fest, where his film "Digging Up the Marrow" won the Audience Award for Best Documentary in 2014.
In addition to his film-making career, Green has continued to produce and perform music, releasing 10 solo albums during his career. He has also collaborated with various artists such as Binki Shapiro, and hot Hot Heat’s Steve Bays. Green's contributions to both the music and film industry are remarkable, and his ability to create relatable yet incredibly strange worlds have earned him a following that eagerly anticipates all his future work.
