Bernard Baruch Autographs

Bernard Baruch was a noted financier, stockbroker, and statesman who made a formidable name for himself in American history. Born to a Jewish family in South Carolina in 1870, Baruch moved to New York to pursue his passion for finance. He began his career as a broker and continued to thrive in business during the 20th century. He made smart investments and used his sharp business acumen to establish himself as one of Wall Street's most successful entrepreneurs.
Baruch's contribution to history, however, is not just limited to his entrepreneurial success. He played a crucial role in shaping the United States' foreign policy during World War I, the interwar years, and World War II. President Woodrow Wilson appointed Baruch to head the War Industries Board during World War I, giving him unprecedented power to regulate the country's war economy. In the interwar period, Baruch served in various advisory roles to several Presidents, including Franklin Roosevelt, who considered him to be his economic advisor. During World War II, Baruch was a vital member of Roosevelt's administration and helped shape U.S. strategy against the Axis Powers. His influence on U.S. government policy was so significant that he was given the moniker "the unofficial President."
Baruch's achievements and influence across various spheres of American life earned him many accolades, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1946. Though he withdrew from the public scene after World War II, Baruch continued to work on philanthropic causes until his death in 1965. Today, Bernard Baruch is remembered as one of the most successful and influential businessmen, statesmen, and public figures in the history of the United States.
