Frank Oz Autographs
Frank Oz, also known as Frank Richard Oznowicz, was born on May 25, 1944, in Hereford, England. He is an American actor, director, and puppeteer best known for his work in movies. Oz began his career as a puppeteer, and he would later gain recognition as a filmmaker in Hollywood. Oz is best known for his memorable performances as Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Animal in The Muppet Show.
Oz made his big-screen debut as a puppeteer for Yoda in the second Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back (1980). He also provided his voice to the character. He then went on to direct movies, starting with Dark Crystal (1982), which he co-directed with Jim Henson. Oz's directing work also includes Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988), Bowfinger (1999), and The Stepford Wives (2004). In 2007, Oz once again portrayed Yoda in the final Star Wars movie, The Revenge of the Sith.
Oz's contributions to the movie industry have earned him many accolades. He has been nominated several times for the Primetime Emmy Awards, and he has won two, both for his work on Sesame Street. He was also inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2000. With a career spanning over several decades, Frank Oz continues to be an icon in the world of entertainment.
