George C. Scott Autographs
George C. Scott was an American actor well-known for his many supporting roles throughout the golden age of cinema. Born in Virginia in 1927, Scott attended Virginia Military Institute before serving in the US Marine Corps in World War II. Following his military service, Scott moved to New York City to pursue acting and began studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Scott built a reputation as a versatile actor appearing in films such as "Anatomy of a Murder" and "The Hustler." However, his defining role came in 1970 when he starred as General George S. Patton in the biopic "Patton." The role earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor, but he refused to accept the award citing his dislike for movie awards.
Scott continued to appear in notable films throughout his career, including the horror classic "The Exorcist" and the political thriller "The Day of the Dolphin." Despite his significant contributions to cinema, Scott is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Patton, which cemented his place as one of Hollywood's most talented and respected actors.
