John Grisham was born on February 8, 1955, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was the second of five siblings and grew up in a modest family. Grisham attended Mississippi State University and then went on to study law at the University of Mississippi. Grisham's writing career began with his first novel, "A Time to Kill," which was published in 1989. However, it wasn't until his second novel, "The Firm," was published in 1991 that he became a household name. The book spent almost a year on the New York Times Best Seller list and was subsequently made into a movie starring Tom Cruise. Grisham has since gone on to become one of the most successful and prolific writers of our time, with over 40 books to his name. Almost all of his novels have become bestsellers, and many have been made into movies or television shows.

Throughout his career, Grisham has also become a celebrity advocate for various causes. He is a vocal advocate for criminal justice reform and has spoken out about the problems with the prison system in the United States. He has also supported literacy programs and is a member of the board of directors for the Innocence Project, which works towards freeing wrongfully convicted individuals. Grisham has used his celebrity platform to bring attention to these issues and work towards meaningful change.
