Lou Nanne Autographs
Lou Nanne was born on June 2, 1941, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. He is a former professional ice hockey player, coach, and executive. He spent most of his career with the Minnesota North Stars and played a large role in the establishment of the Minnesota Wild expansion team during the late 1990s. Nanne began playing hockey at a young age and eventually played for the University of Minnesota, leading the Golden Gophers to the NCAA Championship in 1963.
After college, Nanne signed with the Minnesota North Stars and had a long and successful career as a defenseman. He played for the North Stars for 11 seasons and served as captain for three seasons. During his time with the team, he was named an All-Star three times and played in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1981. Following his playing career, Nanne went on to work for the North Stars organization as assistant coach, general manager, and president. He was also a commentator for ESPN and later became part of the group that brought the NHL back to Minnesota with the establishment of the Wild.
Nanne has been recognized for his contributions to the sport of hockey with inductions into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame and as a member of the NHL's 100 Greatest Players list. He has also been active in the community with charitable work and the establishment of the Lou Nanne Youth Hockey Foundation, which provides financial assistance to underprivileged children who want to participate in hockey. Nanne's dedication and passion for the sport of hockey have made him a beloved figure in Minnesota and the hockey community as a whole.
