Throughout his illustrious career, Serkin performed with some of the most famous orchestras in the world, including the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Orchestra. He also collaborated with other musical greats such as violinist Adolf Busch and cellist Pablo Casals. Serkin was instrumental in popularizing the works of lesser-known European composers in America, including Janáček, Debussy, and Schoenberg.

In addition to his success as a musician, Serkin was also highly respected as an educator. He founded the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, which remains one of the top music schools in the world to this day. Serkin also taught at the Marlboro Music School in Vermont, which he co-founded, and at the Juilliard School in New York City. Despite his many achievements, Rudolf Serkin remained a humble man who always put his passion for music first, and he inspired many with his remarkable talent and dedication to his craft.
