Akeem Ayers Autographs
Akeem Ayers is a former American football linebacker who played for several teams over the course of his career in the National Football League (NFL). Born on July 10, 1989, in Los Angeles, California, Ayers grew up in a family of football enthusiasts. His father was a high school football coach, and his elder brother also played football. Ayers attended Verbum Dei High School in California, where he played as a linebacker in his high school team. He was rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and committed to playing college football at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
At UCLA, Ayers made an immediate impact as a freshman and went on to become a standout player for the Bruins. He played as a strongside linebacker and was known for his versatility and athleticism. Ayers was part of a talented UCLA defense that led the team to a 7-6 record in the 2009 season. In his senior year, Ayers was named a first-team All-American after recording 68 tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions. He decided to forgo his senior season and entered the 2011 NFL Draft.
Ayers was selected in the second round of the draft (39th overall) by the Tennessee Titans. He played for the Titans for three seasons and started in 44 games. In 2014, Ayers was traded to the New England Patriots, where he played for a single season before being signed by the St. Louis Rams. He also played for the Indianapolis Colts and the Detroit Lions before announcing his retirement from the NFL in 2020. Over the course of his career, Ayers recorded 321 tackles, 15.5 sacks, and two interceptions. Despite suffering injuries during his career, Ayers will be remembered as a solid player who made significant contributions to every team he played for.
