Akiem Hicks Autograph
Akiem Hicks is an American football player who currently plays as a defensive end for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). Born on November 16, 1989, in Sacramento, California, Hicks started playing football at his high school, Del Campo High. After going undrafted in 2012, Hicks was signed by the New Orleans Saints as a free agent. He spent three seasons with the Saints, where he played mostly as a backup, before signing with the New England Patriots in 2015. However, he was cut by the Patriots before the start of the season, and he went on to join the Chicago Bears later that year. It was with the Bears that Hicks finally broke out as a star player. In his first season with the team, he recorded a career-high of seven sacks and was named a Pro Bowl alternate. Since then, he has been one of the Bears' most consistent and reliable players, earning Pro Bowl honors again in 2018 and 2019.
Off the field, Hicks is known for his philanthropic work. In 2018, he started his own foundation, The Hicks Helping Haiti Foundation, to help provide education, food, and medical care for children in Haiti. He has also been actively involved in other charitable organizations, including The Dreambuilders Foundation and the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center. Hicks is a strong advocate for giving back to the community, and his continued success on the field and off has made him a role model for young athletes everywhere.
