Al Toon Autographs
Al Toon is a former American football wide receiver who played for the New York Jets from 1985 to 1992. He was born on May 30, 1963, in Newport News, Virginia. Toon attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers. He was a two-time All-American and set several records for the Badgers.
Toon was drafted by the New York Jets in the 1st round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He spent his entire professional career with the Jets and is considered one of the best players in the team's history. He was a three-time Pro Bowler (1986, 1988, and 1989) and was named First-team All-Pro in 1986 and 1988. He also set several team records, including most receptions in a season (93) and most receiving yards in a season (1,483). Unfortunately, Toon's career was cut short due to multiple concussions, and he retired from the NFL in 1992 at the age of 29.
After his retirement, Toon focused on his family and his faith, becoming a devout Christian. He has also been involved in several philanthropic endeavors, including the American Cancer Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Despite only playing for eight seasons, Toon made a significant impact on the game of football and remains one of the most beloved players in New York Jets history.
