In 1943, Al Wistert joined the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League (NFL) and quickly established himself as one of the top lineman in the league. He played for the Eagles for nine seasons and helped lead them to two NFL championships in 1948 and 1949. He was named to the Pro Bowl eight times during his career and was widely regarded as one of the best tackles of his era.

After retiring from football, Wistert worked as a printer and also served as a coach and scout for several NFL teams. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967 and his number 70 jersey was retired by the Eagles. He passed away on March 5, 2016, at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most accomplished and respected players in the history of American football.
