Albert Okwuegbunam is a talented American football player currently playing in the National Football League (NFL) for the Denver Broncos. He was born on April 25, 1998, in Springfield, Illinois. Okwuegbunam is 6ft 5in tall and weighs 258 lbs, and plays as a tight end.
Okwuegbunam began playing football in high school, where he developed a keen interest in the sport. He went on to play college football for the Missouri Tigers, where he had an impressive career. In his freshman year, Okwuegbunam recorded 11 touchdowns, the most by a freshman tight end in SEC history. This feat earned him Freshman All-American and second-team All-SEC honors. Okwuegbunam continued to excel in college, and in his final year, he recorded 23 touchdowns and 98 receptions. This performance earned him first-team All-SEC honors and recognition as a John Mackey Award finalist, an award given to the best tight end in college football.
Following his successful college football career, Okwuegbunam was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft. He has since played for the Broncos, where he has shown great potential as a tight end. Okwuegbunam scored his first touchdown for the Broncos in November 2020, in a game against the Atlanta Falcons. He finished the 2020 NFL season with 8 receptions for 159 yards and one touchdown. With his impressive physical attributes and excellent football skills, Okwuegbunam is expected to continue making an impact for the Broncos and the NFL as a whole.
