Alex Henery Autographs
Alex Henery is a former placekicker in the National Football League (NFL) who played for various teams during 2011-2014. Born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1987, he started playing football while in high school and later went on to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Henery began his professional career after he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Henery got off to an impressive start in the NFL, earning the title of NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in his rookie season after he made three field goals against the Dallas Cowboys, including one that was 51 yards long. He had a successful start to his NFL career with the Eagles, setting several franchise records and becoming the team's all-time most accurate kicker. However, he struggled in the following season with some important misses, which led the Eagles to release him in 2014. He then briefly played for the Detroit Lions and the Tennessee Titans before losing his place in the NFL.
During his short career in the NFL, Henery made 86 out of 102 field goal attempts, with a career-long of 51 yards. He also made 112 out of 115 extra points. After his release, Henery pursued other interests and eventually left the sport. Despite his relatively short tenure in the NFL, Henery remains a respected player in the world of American football, known for his accuracy and his contribution to the Philadelphia Eagles.
