Andy Farkas Autographs
Andy Farkas was an American football player who was born on December 2, 1916. He attended the University of Detroit and played for their football team, the Titans, from 1936 to 1938. Farkas was a fullback and was known for his hard running style and his ability to move quickly through a pack of defenders.
After college, Farkas played professional football for the Washington Redskins for eight seasons (1938-1945). During his time with the team, he was a key player in their offense and helped the Redskins win the NFL Championship in 1942. Farkas was also named to the Pro Bowl three times (1939, 1940, 1942) and led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in 1940. He retired from professional football in 1945, having amassed 3,258 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdowns over his career.
After his playing days were over, Farkas worked as a football coach and scout. He also served as a baseball scout for several years. In 1971, Farkas was inducted into the University of Detroit's Athletic Hall of Fame. He passed away on May 20, 2000, at the age of 83. Andy Farkas will always be remembered as a skilled, powerful player who played an important role in the history of American football.
