Andy Russell Autographs
Andy Russell is a former American football linebacker who played with the Pittsburgh Steelers for 12 seasons from 1963 until 1976. He attended Missouri University and was selected by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 1963 NFL draft. He made an immediate impact for the team, playing in every game in his rookie season and leading the team in tackles in the 1964 season.
Throughout his career, Russell was known for his aggressive playing style and his excellent ability to read the opposing team's offense. He was an integral part of the Pittsburgh Steelers' famous Steel Curtain defense that won two Super Bowls in 1974 and 1975. Russell was also a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named the team's MVP in 1971. In addition to his on-field success, Russell was a respected team leader who was highly regarded by both his coaches and his teammates for his work ethic and professionalism.
After retiring from football, Russell went on to have a successful business career and became a respected member of the community. He was also inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 1994, and the Pittsburgh Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014. Andy Russell's impact on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the game of American football is still felt today, and he is remembered as one of the finest linebackers of his generation.
