Anthony Dilweg Autographs
Anthony Dilweg is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons from 1989 to 1993. Born on February 23, 1965, in Durham, North Carolina, Dilweg was destined to play football as his father, Carl Dilweg, was also an NFL player.
Dilweg attended Durham Academy in Durham, North Carolina, where he was a standout athlete in both football and basketball. He went on to play college football at Duke University, where he was the starting quarterback for three seasons from 1985 to 1988. Dilweg set numerous Duke school records during his career, including the school career passing record with 6,040 yards. He was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Year in 1988 and was also a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award, given annually to the nation's top quarterback.
Drafted in the third round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, Dilweg played three seasons for the team. He then played one season each for the Los Angeles Rams and the Indianapolis Colts before retiring in 1994 due to a shoulder injury. Throughout his NFL career, Dilweg played in 32 games, threw for 2,379 yards, and had a passer rating of 66.7. He is currently the Executive Director of the Duke Football Legacy Fund, which supports current and future generations of Duke football student-athletes.
