Anthony Thompson Autographs
Anthony Thompson is an American retired football player who played as a running back for the University of Indiana Hoosiers from 1986 to 1989. He was the first running back in Big Ten History to rush for over 1,700 yards in two consecutive seasons, and he ranked eighth in rushing yards in NCAA Division 1-A history. Thompson was a two-time All-American and won the Maxwell Award in 1989. He was also a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, finishing second behind Andre Ware. Thompson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007.
After his college career, Thompson was drafted by the Phoenix Cardinals in the second round of the 1990 NFL Draft. He played for the Cardinals for four seasons and was then traded to the Los Angeles Raiders, where he played for two more years. Thompson finished his NFL career with 1,601 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. In his best season, he rushed for 634 yards and six touchdowns for the Cardinals in 1991.
Thompson had an impressive football career that made him a legend at both the college and NFL levels. He was known for his speed and agility, and he had a rare ability to find the right holes and make large gains. Thompson's contributions to the game have not gone unnoticed, and he has been recognized as one of the best college football players in history. Today, Thompson is retired from football and remains an inspiration to many young players.
