After college, Herber was signed by the Green Bay Packers in 1934 where he played for nine seasons. During his time with Packers, he became one of the most successful and highly regarded quarterbacks of his era. Herber was part of the Packers' back-to-back NFL championship teams in 1936 and 1939, where he played a key role in both championship runs. In 1936, Herber completed 12 out of 19 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the championship game against the Boston Redskins, leading the Packers to a 21-6 victory.

Herber's career with the Packers was also notable for the innovations that he brought to the game, including the "alley-oop" pass, throwing the ball high in the air to a receiver in the endzone. This became a signature play for the Packers offense under coach Curly Lambeau. In 1966, Herber was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in recognition of his significant contributions to the game of American Football. Read even more about Arnie Herber at Wikipedia
