Ben Obomanu Autographs
Ben Obomanu was a former American football wide receiver who played for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on October 30, 1983, in Selma, Alabama. Obomanu started his football career at Selma High School, where he was a standout player. In his senior year, he caught 50 passes for 848 yards and six touchdowns, which earned him a scholarship to Auburn University.
Obomanu played for the Auburn Tigers from 2002-2005, where he was a part of the 2004 SEC Championship team. He finished his college career with 97 receptions, 1,356 yards, and 18 touchdowns. In the 2006 NFL Draft, Obomanu was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round. He played for the Seahawks from 2006-2012, and during his time there, he played in 66 games, with 87 receptions, 1,209 yards, and seven touchdowns. He also played in three playoff games, including Super Bowl XLVIII, which the Seahawks won over the Denver Broncos.
Obomanu’s notable football career also includes short stints with the New York Jets and the Atlanta Falcons. He retired from the NFL in 2014, and in August 2015, he signed a one-day contract with the Seattle Seahawks to retire as a member of his former team. Apart from his football career, Obomanu is also an entrepreneur and author. He started Obomanu Ventures, a real estate development company, and wrote a book titled “Rise and Fire: The Extraordinary Journey of the NFL’s Most Relentless Wide Receiver,” which was published in 2018.
