Born on December 23, 1984, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Pollard grew up playing multiple sports before eventually finding his love for football in high school. In 2006, Pollard was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the NFL draft. He spent the next five seasons with the Chiefs, amassing a total of 516 tackles, nine sacks, and nine interceptions during his time with the team. In 2011, Pollard signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, where he became known as a key member of the team’s physical defense.
