Kuechenberg played a significant role in the Miami Dolphins' success during the 1970s, a decade in which they won two Super Bowls (VII and VIII) and had an undefeated season in 1972. He was part of the iconic offensive line that was dubbed the "No-Name" line due to their anonymity on the national stage, but their excellence on the field. Kuechenberg was recognized for his efforts and was named to the All-Pro team six times (1974-1979) and played in six Pro Bowls (1975-1980). He was known for his toughness and resilience, often playing through injuries, and helped anchor one of the most dominant offenses of the era.

Kuechenberg retired from the NFL after the 1984 season and was inducted into the Miami Dolphins' honor roll in 1995. He was finally recognized for his efforts in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021, after years of missing out. Kuechenberg's contribution to the Dolphins' success and his stellar career have established him as one of the best players in the franchise's history and one of the best offensive linemen of his era.
