Bob Lee Autographs
Bob Lee is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1969 to 1980. Lee was born on November 7, 1946, in El Dorado, Arkansas. He attended El Dorado High School, where he played football and basketball, earning All-State honors in both sports. After high school, Lee went on to play college football at the University of Arkansas, where he was the starting quarterback for two seasons.
Lee was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 17th round of the 1969 NFL Draft. He played for the Vikings from 1969 to 1975, serving as the team's backup quarterback behind Fran Tarkenton. Lee was an important member of the Vikings team that made it to Super Bowl VIII in 1974. In 1976, Lee was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, where he played for four seasons. He finished his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers in 1980.
During his NFL career, Lee played in 98 games, completing 413 of 792 passes for 5,210 yards and 31 touchdowns. He was known for his strong arm and his ability to read defenses. After his playing career ended, Lee went on to work as a color commentator for CBS Sports and ESPN. He was also a football coach at the high school level. Lee passed away on March 17, 2019, at the age of 72.
