Bobby Carpenter is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League for 10 years. He was born on August 26, 1983, in Lancaster, Ohio, and attended Ohio State University, where he played college football. Carpenter had a solid college career, starting in 34 games and making 233 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and three interceptions. He was drafted in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys, where he played for four seasons, making 96 tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions. Carpenter's best season came in 2009 with the St. Louis Rams, where he started in all 16 games and made 43 tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions. He also had a memorable performance in the 2012 AFC Championship Game with the New England Patriots, where he recorded an interception in the end zone against the Baltimore Ravens to help his team secure a spot in the Super Bowl.
