Boyd Dowler Autographs
Boyd Dowler is a former American football player who played as a wide receiver for both the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Redskins in the National Football League (NFL). Born on October 18, 1937, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, Dowler grew up in Cheyenne, where he excelled in both football and basketball. After high school, he attended the University of Colorado, where he played college football and basketball.
Dowler was drafted in the third round of the 1959 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He quickly established himself as one of the top receivers in the league, becoming a key part of the Packers' dominant teams of the 1960s. Dowler played a crucial role in the Packers' victories in the first two Super Bowls, making several important catches in both games. He was named to the Pro Bowl twice during his career, in 1965 and 1967.
Dowler retired from the NFL after the 1971 season, having played 12 seasons in the league. He finished his career with 474 receptions for 7,270 yards and 40 touchdowns. After retiring from football, Dowler worked as a color commentator for NBC and CBS in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1981, he was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, and in 1994, he was inducted into the University of Colorado Athletic Hall of Fame. Dowler's legacy as one of the greatest wide receivers in Packers history has been cemented by his numerous achievements on the field and his continued involvement in the sport.
