Brad Van Pelt was born on April 5, 1951, in Owosso, Michigan, and went on to become a legendary American football player. He played football at Michigan State University, where he was a two-time All-American and set a school record for interceptions. Van Pelt played for the Giants from 1973 to 1983 and was one of the team's most consistent and reliable players. He played both linebacker and defensive back, and his versatility made him invaluable to the team. He was a five-time Pro Bowler, and in 1976, he was named a First-Team All-Pro. During his time with the Giants, Van Pelt amassed 20 interceptions and nearly 25 quarterback sacks.

Van Pelt retired from football in 1986, and in 1994, he was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. He died tragically in 2009 at the age of 57. Despite his untimely death, Van Pelt's legacy in American football lives on.
