Bulaga went on to play college football at the University of Iowa, where he played for three years. He was named first-team All-Big Ten Conference in his final year in college and was also named the Orange Bowl Most Valuable Player after helping Iowa defeat Georgia Tech. In the 2010 NFL Draft, Bulaga was selected 23rd overall by the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Packers for ten seasons, helping the team win Super Bowl XLV. Bulaga was a reliable and consistent player on the field, starting in 115 games and earning a reputation as one of the best offensive linemen in the league.

Bulaga retired from the NFL in March 2021, finishing his career with the Los Angeles Chargers. He was known for his toughness, durability, and professionalism on and off the field. In addition to his football career, Bulaga is also active in philanthropy, supporting various organizations such as the University of Iowa Children's Hospital and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
