Butch Davis Autographs
Butch Davis is an American football coach who became an integral part of the NFL and NCAA football teams. Davis showed his passion for football as early as high school where he was a two-time All-State Defensive End. He then attended the University of Arkansas, where he played football from 1969-1971, and then moved on to become a graduate assistant at the University of Oklahoma. His career began taking off when he was named the defensive coordinator at the University of Miami in 1984. Davis' dominant leadership at Miami led the Hurricanes to two national championships, and many players went on to play professionally in the NFL.
Davis continued his coaching career as a head coach at the University of Miami, where he led the Hurricanes to multiple championships, including one National Championship, before moving on to coach the NFL's Dallas Cowboys as a defensive coordinator. Davis then went on to become the head coach of the Cleveland Browns where he improved the team's record each year, despite having a limited budget for player acquisitions. Davis made his return to the University of Miami in 2006 as the head coach, where he led his team to seven consecutive wins.
In 2007, Davis became the head coach at the University of North Carolina, where he guided the team to four bowl games in his tenure. Davis was an influential figure in college football, and his legacy still lives on to this day, despite his retirement from coaching. Davis has left a lasting impression on football, and his dedication, passion, and success have helped shape the sport into what it is today.
