Butch Woolfolk Autographs
Butch Woolfolk is a former American football player who made his mark on the field during his time with the University of Michigan Wolverines and in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on March 1, 1960, in Birmingham, Alabama, and grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, where he fell in love with football at an early age. Woolfolk was a standout athlete in high school, playing multiple positions, and was heavily recruited by top college programs across the country.
Woolfolk was a running back at the University of Michigan from 1978 to 1981, earning All-American honors in his senior year. He was also a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection and finished his college career with 3,850 all-purpose yards and 29 touchdowns. Woolfolk's performance on the field helped lead the Wolverines to a Rose Bowl victory in 1981. He later went on to be drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 1982 NFL Draft and played professionally for nine seasons with the Giants and the Houston Oilers.
During his NFL career, Woolfolk was known for his speed and agility as well as his ability to catch passes out of the backfield. He rushed for over 3,000 yards and scored 18 touchdowns in his career, helping the Giants reach the playoffs in 1984 and the Oilers in 1986. Despite injuries and setbacks, Woolfolk remained a dedicated and hardworking player throughout his career, earning the respect of his teammates and coaches alike. His legacy on the football field continues to inspire young athletes today.
