Calvin Hill's professional football career spanned a decade, starting with the Dallas Cowboys, where he spent the first six seasons of his career. His most productive season with the team was in 1972, where he rushed for a career-high 1,036 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. Hill was an integral part of the Cowboys team that reached Super Bowl VI, where he played a vital role in their 24-3 victory over the Miami Dolphins. After leaving the Cowboys in 1976, Calvin Hill played for the Washington Redskins and the Cleveland Browns before retiring in 1981.

Hill's accomplishments in football are highly praised and recognized. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and made the All-Pro team twice in his career. Additionally, Hill was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2002. He played in 117 games in his career, rushing for 6,083 yards, scoring a total of 45 touchdowns.
