Cedric Benson was an American football player who was born on December 28, 1982, in Midland, Texas. He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Midland where he was a standout player. Benson played college football at the University of Texas, where he became one of the best running backs in the school's history. He rushed for 1,000 yards or more in each of his four seasons, totaling 5,540 rushing yards and 64 touchdowns. More about Cedric Benson

Off the field, Benson was known for his philanthropic work, particularly in his hometown of Midland, Texas. He established the Cedric Benson Foundation, which focused on helping underprivileged youth in the area. Benson tragically passed away on August 17, 2019, in a motorcycle accident in Austin, Texas. He will always be remembered as one of the best running backs in the history of the University of Texas and a talented NFL player who made a significant impact on the field.
