Charlie Batch is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 15 seasons. He was born on December 5, 1974, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and grew up in nearby Homestead and Munhall. In high school, Batch was a star athlete who excelled in both football and basketball, and he was named the Pennsylvania high school football player of the year in 1992. More about Charlie Batch

Batch attended Eastern Michigan University, where he played quarterback for the Eagles. In four seasons, he set several school records and passed for over 9,000 yards and 71 touchdowns. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft and played five seasons for the team, primarily as a backup. In 2002, Batch signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he spent the next 11 seasons.
