Chris Banjo is an American professional football player who was born on February 26, 1990, in Sugar Land, Texas. He currently plays as a safety for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Banjo attended Kempner High School in Sugar Land, Texas, where he played on the school's football team. After high school, Banjo went on to play college football for Southern Methodist University (SMU) where he played for the SMU Mustangs from 2008 to 2012. He mainly played as a cornerback for the team and was a key player in the team's defense. In his senior year, Banjo was named as a team captain and received All-Conference USA honors. Despite not getting drafted by any NFL teams in the 2012 NFL Draft, Banjo signed as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders, where he spent the first two years of his NFL career.
Banjo later played for the Green Bay Packers from 2013 to 2016, where he played primarily as a special teams player. He was known for his speed and aggressive play in special teams and played a key role in the Packers' success. In 2017, he signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he played primarily as a safety before being released in 2019. In the same year, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals and has since played a key role in the team's defense.
