After college, Berman landed a job at ESPN, where he carved out a successful career as a play-by-play announcer and commentator for the National Football League (NFL). He became one of the most recognizable faces of ESPN and is credited with popularizing the term "back, back, back" in reference to home runs during the network's "Home Run Derby" coverage. He was also known for his colorful catchphrases and nicknames for players, such as "The Swami," "Boomer," and "Tom Terrific."

Berman covered some of the most memorable moments in NFL history, including the "Music City Miracle" in 2000, when the Tennessee Titans pulled off a stunning last-second kickoff return for a touchdown to beat the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. He also covered 10 Super Bowls and earned a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010. Although he has since retired from ESPN, Berman will always be remembered as a beloved and iconic figure in American sports broadcasting. Read even more about Chris Berman at Wikipedia
