Chris Horton is a retired safety in the National Football League (NFL) who played for the Washington Redskins from 2008 to 2011. Born on December 29, 1984, in San Jose, California, Horton grew up in Del Bonita, Montana. His football career began at De La Salle High School in Concord, California, where he played safety and wide receiver. After high school, Horton attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he played college football as a safety. He played 48 games for the Bruins and recorded 238 tackles, five interceptions, and two sacks. In 2007, his senior year, he was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week twice, and was also named an All-Pac-10 honorable mention. He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL draft, and he went on to play for them for four seasons.

Horton played in 39 games for the Redskins, recording 145 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, and two touchdowns in his career. In 2012, he signed with the Carolina Panthers, but was released after the preseason. Horton retired from football in 2013, and has since been working in marketing and business development.
