Clarke Hinkle was a legendary American football player born on April 10th, 1909. He grew up in Toronto, Ohio, and played college football at Bucknell University, where he was named an All-American halfback. Hinkle was a versatile player who could play both offense and defense. He was known for his punishing runs as a fullback and his ability to stop opposing players as a linebacker. Hinkle played his entire 10-year career with the Green Bay Packers and became one of the team's most beloved players. He was a four-time All-Pro selection and led the NFL in rushing in 1937.

Hinkle retired from football in 1941 and was later inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1964. He became the first player in Packers history to have his jersey number retired, and the team honored him with a statue outside of Lambeau Field. Hinkle remains an enduring figure in the history of American football, remembered for his tough, hard-nosed style of play and his contributions to the Green Bay Packers' success in the 1930s and 1940s.
