Cortez Kennedy Autographs
Cortez Kennedy is a former American football defensive tackle who is widely considered as one of the greatest players in the history of the National Football League (NFL). He was born in Osceola, Arkansas in 1968 and attended the University of Miami, where he played college football for the Miami Hurricanes from 1988 to 1989. In the 1990 NFL draft, Kennedy was selected by the Seattle Seahawks as the third overall pick, and he spent the entirety of his 11-year professional career with the franchise.
Kennedy quickly established himself as one of the most dominating defensive players in the league, earning eight Pro Bowl selections and being named First-team All-Pro three times. He was also recognized as the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1992, a year in which he recorded 14 sacks and 92 tackles, leading the Seahawks to the playoffs. Kennedy's impressive career peaked in 1999 when he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, cementing his place among the greatest to ever play the game.
Off the field, Kennedy was known for his generous spirit and his dedication to his community. He was awarded the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 1996 for his outstanding philanthropic work, which included founding the Cortez Kennedy Foundation to help underprivileged children. After his retirement from football, Kennedy worked as a scout and as an analyst, and he remained involved in various charitable organizations until his sudden passing in 2017 at the age of 48. His legacy as one of the most dominant players in NFL history remains an inspiration to many young football players today.
