Damon Huard is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for over a decade. He was born in 1973 in Yakima, Washington, and attended the University of Washington, where he played college football. In 1996, he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent but was cut before the beginning of the season. He later signed with the Miami Dolphins and played there for nine seasons, as well as two seasons with the New England Patriots and one with the Kansas City Chiefs. Huard started his career as a backup quarterback for the Miami Dolphins but eventually became a starter in 1999 due to injuries to the team's starting quarterback. He performed well and led the Dolphins to a 7-2 record in games he started. Huard had his best year in 2000 when he threw for 2,486 yards and 12 touchdowns, leading the Dolphins to a playoff berth. He then spent the 2001 and 2002 seasons with the New England Patriots, where he served as a backup to Tom Brady and helped the team win Super Bowl XXXVI.
