Darren Perry Autographs
Darren Perry is a former American professional football player and coach who played in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons as a safety. Perry was born on December 29, 1968, in Anniston, Alabama, and attended the University of Alabama, where he played college football for the Crimson Tide.
Perry was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the eighth round of the 1992 NFL Draft. In his rookie year, he played in all 16 games and started two. He developed into a solid starter in the Steelers secondary, as in 1995 he led the team with five interceptions and was named to the All-Rookie team. Perry was a team captain from 1997 to 1998 and helped lead the Steelers to the AFC Championship Game in 1995.
After retiring as a player in 2001, Perry turned to coaching. He started his coaching career with the Cincinnati Bengals as their safeties coach from 2002 to 2003. Before joining the Green Bay Packers in 2009, he was the secondary coach for the Oakland Raiders from 2007 to 2008. While he was the defensive backs coach for the Packers, he helped the team win Super Bowl XLV. Perry has continued to coach since then, and he is currently serving as the defensive backs coach for the Los Angeles Chargers.
