Darryl Tapp is a retired American football player who spent 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Tapp was born on September 13, 1984 in Portsmouth, Virginia, and attended Deep Creek High School where he played football as a defensive end. In the 2006 NFL Draft, Tapp was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round. He played for the Seahawks from 2006 to 2009, recording 18 sacks and cementing his place as a competitive defensive player. Tapp then went on to play for a variety of teams including the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions, and finally the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he ended his career in 2017. Tapp was known for his hard work, dedication, and versatility on the field, making him a valuable player to any team he played for.

Although Tapp never won a Super Bowl championship during his career, he was known for his consistent performances and his leadership skills on and off the field. In addition to his football career, Tapp was also actively involved in community service activities such as working with the Boys and Girls Club and hosting youth football camps. While Tapp may no longer be on the field, his legacy as one of the NFL's hardest working players and community leaders will continue to inspire future generations of football players.
